Our 2018 in numbers
For our first blog post of the New Year, we thought we’d share some fun facts with you about the Nature Masterclasses online courses in 2018.
Collectively you spent 12,517 hours on the Nature Masterclasses website in 2018 — enough time to boil 187,764 kettles. That’s a lot of cups of tea!
119,092 researchers and students accessed the site. That’s enough to fill 10,826 soccer teams — with 6 players on the subs bench.
The most popular modules in our subscription course, ‘Scientific Writing and Publishing’ were:
- What Makes a Great Paper. This was the most popular writing module
- Selecting a Journal for Publication. This was the most popular module among researchers learning about submitting to a journal
- Measuring Impact. This was the most popular module about what happens after publication
(If your institution doesn’t yet subscribe, recommend the course today!).
659 of you received a certificate in 2018 for completing our free course, ‘Focus on Peer Review’. Congratulations!
(If you're still working through the course, keep an eye out for your certificate. When you complete 80% of the course, your certificate will become available to download from the course dashboard).
