David Payne

David joined Springer Nature in 2016 as Nature’s Chief Careers Editor and his role now also includes Supplements. David’s journalism career began in 1990 on local newspapers. He worked for the UK GP magazine Pulse, and Nursing Times as deputy editor, and then worked at the Food Standards Agency, a UK government department, where he managed its website and print publications. Prior to joining Springer Nature, David was digital editor for the British Medical Journal, where he implemented a full online-first publishing model. David has a postgraduate diploma in journalism from the University of Wales, Cardiff.
