Magdalena Skipper

Magdalena is the Editor in Chief of Nature and Chief Editorial Advisor for Nature Research. Her considerable experience in science communication comes as a result of the high profile roles she has held, having been Chief Editor of Nature Reviews Genetics, Senior Editor for genetics and genomics at Nature and Editor in Chief of Nature Communications. Magdalena is a geneticist by training, obtaining her PhD from the University of Cambridge before working as a postdoctoral fellow at the Imperial Cancer Research fund. Both as a researcher and in her roles at Springer Nature, she has delivered numerous presentations, including at the World Science Forum, the Global Bioeconomy Summit and Tencent WE Summit. Magdalena is passionate about transparent science and providing clarity in science communication, as well as helping the development of early career researchers.
