Patrick Goymer

Patrick Goymer has an undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, a doctorate in evolutionary and molecular microbiology from the University of Oxford, and postdoctoral experience in ecological and evolutionary genetics at University College London. At the time of his contribution to our courses he was Nature’s Senior Editor for ecology and evolutionary biology. This included topics such as climate change ecology, biodiversity, evolutionary genetics, microbial evolution and human behaviour. He was responsible for selecting primary manuscripts within these areas for peer review, managing the peer review process, and overseeing other journal content in those areas. Prior to joining Nature in 2008, Patrick worked as an Associate Editor on Nature Reviews Genetics, commissioning and editing review articles in all areas of genetics and writing research highlights. He now works as Chief Editor for Nature Ecology & Evolution.
