Beata Mierzwa

Beata Mierzwa is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of California San Diego and the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research. Beata’s research focuses on cell division, with the aim to understand its molecular mechanisms and improve cancer therapy. Along with her scientific research, Beata is also a successful science artist – creating illustrations for her own and others’ scientific research. She was presented with the PeerJ ‘Best Scientific Poster Award’ at the 2019 VIZBI conference, for her poster highlighting how combining science and art can be used to communicate complex scientific concepts and research findings in intuitive ways.
