About Md. Mirazul Islam
Currently I am a Masters of Medical Science (Pharmacology) student at University of Malaya. I did my Undergrad in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from University of Dhaka. I have research experiences on dynamic fields in different institutes (German Cancer Research Center, Berkeley Lab,Children Hospital Los Angeles, Academia Sinica, University of Malaya, University of Dhaka, Bio-Bio-1). My working areas were versatile, like healthcare development, clinical oncology, pharmacology, cell and molecular biology, computational biology, epigenomics, and functional genomics. From diverse working experience, I feel passionate about functional cancer genomics and regulation of cancer cell signaling that's what I want to be specialized in. I feel that science is not isolated rather dynamic and integrated to different fields. I like the integrated working environment like MIT Media Lab(although they are more focused on engineering innovation). I believe in biological innovation and would like to implement computational biology approaches to basic cell biology to find out cancer cell signaling strategy during metastasis stage, how they invade to other tissues, how we could stop them. I would love to work on such a project that designs for dry lab as well as wet lab experiments on basic or transnational science.
