We are delighted to announce our new online course called ‘Focus on Peer Review’.
Whether you are new to peer review or want to brush up your knowledge, use the course to improve your peer review skills and receive a certificate.
The course is available in time for Peer Review Week 2017, which takes place this week, 11-17 September. This annual global event celebrates the role that peer review plays in maintaining scientific quality.
Free institution-wide access
Institutions can request free institution-wide access. As well as setting up your institution’s access, we can provide promotional resources to help you drive awareness of the course, and usage reports to help you track the uptake from your researchers.
4 modules provide a comprehensive overview of peer review.

- Module 2: The peer review report
- Module 3: Ethics in peer review
- Module 4: Variations and innovations in peer review
The course features video interviews with Nature Research editors, such as Elisa De Ranieri, Senior Editor of Nature Energy, Federico Levi, Associate Editor of Nature Communications, and Alicia Newton, Senior Editor or Nature Geoscience - as well as with active researchers.
The bitesize videos, posts, and activities make it easy to fit the course around your work. Sign in in whenever you have a few minutes to spare. Total course duration, including reflection time, is around 3 hours.
Complete 80% (or more) of the course and receive a certificate. You can download your certificate to keep or print off.
