Sarah Blackford

Sarah is an internationally recognised academic career specialist and consultant with more than 25 years of experience supporting PhD and early career researchers with their career development needs. She provides group training and individual career coaching in the form of workshops and one-to-one training on aspects such as job seeking, self-presentation, CV writing and interview technique. With a background in bioscience research and communications, Sarah is also an honorary teaching fellow in the Division of Biomedical and Life Sciences (BLS), Lancaster University. A Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), Sarah holds a master’s degree in Career Education and Guidance in Higher Education (University of Warwick) and is the author of the book Career Planning for Research Bioscientists. Sarah is a registered practitioner of the Career Development Institute and the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS). A self-confessed ‘connector’, Sarah values the power of networking and engages with many social media forums to keep up to date with career developments and job opportunities in order to assist researchers in her network and beyond.
