Richard McCourt
Professor and Curator, Academy of Natural Sciences, Drexel University
Richard works at Drexel University in Philadelphia, where he is a Professor in the Department of Biodiversity, Earth & Environmental Science and a Curator of Botany at the Academy of Natural Sciences. Prior to this Richard worked at the National Science Foundation. Here, he served as Program Director in the Division of Biological Infrastructure, the Division of Environmental Biology, and the Division of Graduate Education. He holds an M.S. and a PhD in Ecology & Evolution from the University of Arizona and was an Associate Professor at DePaul University in Chicago before joining Drexel. Richard has also been able to secure substantial funding for his own research, focusing on biodiversity, evolution, ecology, and systematics of green algae.
