Pep Pàmies

Pep obtained a PhD in Chemical Engineering in December 2003 from Rovira i Virgili University in Catalonia, Spain and subsequently spent time conducting research in computational soft matter and biophysics at Columbia University's Chemistry Department in New York City, at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces in Potsdam, and at the Atomic and Molecular Physics Institute in Amsterdam.

Pep worked as an editor for Nature Materials for more than 5 years, where he championed the biomaterials content, handling manuscripts and commissioning articles in a wide variety of subjects, including tissue engineering, medical imaging, regenerative medicine, cancer therapy and diagnostics. In 2017, he launched Nature Biomedical Engineering, where he is currently leading the editorial team. His experience at Nature Biomedical Engineering, handling some of the most exciting research stories, especially from different fields, and interest and expertise in applying cinematographic concepts to improve peer-to-peer communication, all put him in an ideal position to contribute to our course.
