  • Networking for Researchers: Researchers will learn about the importance of this valuable yet intangible skill with practical tips on establishing collaborations, building reputation, getting a job and buildings teams in a virtual and real world.

    • Examine different purposes, opportunities and challenges related to building your network
    • Prepare resources to help you build an effective network 
    • Apply strategies to approach and connect with potential network contacts, both in person and online 
    • Analyse strategies for leveraging your network in order to advance your researcher or career
  • Advancing your Scientific Presentations : Providing your researchers with practical skills to build a compelling slide deck and deliver a successful presentation of their findings, in person and virtually, to their peers.

    Learning outcomes include:
    • Explore the strategies that can help to overcome challenges researchers commonly experience when creating and delivering oral presentations
    • Build compelling research stories to underpin presentations that effectively communicate your message to your audience
    • Plan presentation slide decks that effectively support and communicate your research story to your audience (whether face-to-face or virtual)
    • Apply strategies to help you deliver both face-to-face and virtual presentations effectively on the day
  • Data Analysis: Planning and Preparing: As scientists deal with increasingly data-rich research, this course will develop knowledge on how to stringently analyse data with the aim of improving the quality of their output.

    Learning outcomes include:
    • Examine the benefits and challenges of planning your data analysis, and understand the principles of creating a data analysis plan
    • Prepare to analyse your data using best practice principles and processes
